How To Win

What Is Victory?

You win when your enemy stop fighting permanently. Your enemy stop fighting permanently when it loses its will to fight.

As long as a war is going on there is no victory.

Willingness To Fight

If your enemy has stopped fighting to realign to make a setup for an ambush or to prepare for an assault then it has not stopped fighting permanently because it still has will to fight. If the realignment is for defense only and your enemy let you have what you realistically wanted to have then your enemy has lost its will to fight.

So, in short of disbanding its forces or outright surrendering to you the only way to know that your enemy has lost its will to fight is it letting you have what you realistically wanted to have without preparing for an ambush.

If your enemy is fighting tooth and nail for what you wanted to have then it clearly has will to fight. It not mean that if it let you have what you want then it must have lost its will to fight. There is still the danger of it preparing for an ambush. If you are sure there is no such preparation going on then you can assure yourself that the war is over.

What Is Victory For You

Now, what you wanted to have is not always something material, and its not you who are always on offensive. It may be your enemy invading you and all you wanted is to live in peace. If your enemy after a while let you live in peace that is stop assaulting you for considerable period of time then  you have won. If you want enemy forces to completely leave your land then you don't win till your enemy has left your territory.

Win-Win

In a sense, even in a hot war both parties may win. If there is some land that you don't care about enough to fight for and your enemy occupy it then both you and your enemy can legitimately declare victory. Your enemy can rightfully say that it got what it wanted and you have no will to fight about it, so it has won. You can rightfully say that you achieved what you want i.e. to live peacefully and your enemy is not preparing for an assault so you have won.

The Technique

Tire Them Up

Your enemies, each of them, is either a group or an individual. While an individual enemy is obviously his/her own leader I argue that each group is bound to have one and only one leader, in order to continue existing as a group. Its this one person, one each for all your group and individual enemies that we target. How? Read below.

A person cannot stay alert for long. This is in nature of human beings. Nothing can go against its nature. Everything is bound to its nature. When you utilize a weakness that is in nature, and not in a habit or in anything else that is learned, you are bound to gain and enormously so.

Being alert is not a normal state. Sooner or later that alertness is bound to fade. That is when you strike.

The point is to keep on pressure. Not necessarily attack all the time or frequently. Just keep your enemy in alert position till it cannot stay alert. Then you strike in full.

If you have means to continuously harass your enemy do so. It will tire him/them up fast. If you cannot continuously attack them atleast keep the pressure on somehow.

Its when your enemy loose focus is when you strike in full. You don't strike when your enemy is ready and attentive. You strike when your enemy is at ease.

This is how you win. You strike when your enemy is not in top mood to fight. Keep doing this and your enemy will start losing moral. Its attentiveness is not paying. Its attentive is being wasted. Your enemy will soon learn to avoid being attentive and to let things go. Your enemy will lose the will to fight.

Be Prepare For A Long Fight.

Attack The Mood

Don't fight fire with fire. Fight fire with water. When your enemy is in mood to fight don't reward that mood by fighting in full. Avoid fighting altogether or fight only sparsely just to defend, or fight where enemy is not expecting, is not prepared, and cannot defend. Put bad taste in mouth of your enemy for what you not want it to do and its bound by its nature to learn that.

If your enemy backoff and let you have what you realistically want, and don't prepare for an ambush then reward your enemy by not demanding more. Let your enemy live in peace for a considerable period of time. This way your enemy will learn to let you have what you want. Never ever move the goal post. Don't give enemy bad taste in mouth for obeying you.

Limitation Of The Technique

The only way your enemy can get out of this trap is through democracy. The whole scheme is to target the individual at top. There have to be only one individual at top for each of your enemies, and that individual being human is bound to get tired at some point, all you have to do is to keep on pressure. Individuals can always be dealt this way, they are bound to be their own leaders. Groups, however, can get out of this trap by having a different person as leader after a while. If the groups each maintain its integrity during and after the transition to a different leader then its leader never get tired. In such situation you have to use some other technique.
